BRIAN HAWKINS

A Starkville man has been indicted on charges of child fondling and sexual battery in connection with a series of incidents involving children ranging in age from 3 to 14.
David Parrish, 26, was arraigned Thursday morning in Oktibbeha County Circuit Court on two counts of child fondling and one count of sexual battery.
He remains jailed under a hold placed on him by Corrections Department officers, who are seeking to have his post-release supervision from a prior narcotics conviction revoked.
According to Circuit Court documents, Parrish is accused of fondling a 14-year-old girl between Nov. 15 and Dec. 15, 2009, fondling a 4-year-old boy on Feb. 3 and sexually assaulting a 3-year-old girl on Feb. 3.
The Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department investigated the reported fondling and sexual battery incidents. Parrish’s next scheduled court date is Nov. 1.
