In seventh grade, a young man entered a school in Hattiesburg, flashing gang symbols and saying “What up, cuz?”
Before he went into eighth grade, he smoked marijuana after leaving Vacation Bible School.
“He had a Bible under his left hand and a joint in his right hand,” the speaker said.
By the eighth grade, the young man started selling marijuana and crack cocaine.
He was one way around his elders, and another away from them.
“This guy smoked so much weed, and he sold so much weed, that they started calling him ‘Lil’ Weed,’” the man said. “Something happened to Lil’ Weed.”
Over the Christmas holiday of a particular year, the young man gave his life to Christ.
“All of a sudden, everything about him changed,” the man said, adding the young man rose to be student government president and went on to take part in take part in the drama team. He traveled to perform in England and Scotland.
