One of the Mississippi Horse Park’s largest annual events will celebrate its 10th anniversary this weekend. The annual June Jam Barrel Race will celebrate its 10th anniversary with three days of barrel racing action beginning today and continuing through Sunday.
“The June Jam kicked off the barrel racing tradition at the Horse Park in 2001 with promoter Mary Jane Carpenter. The first race had 335 entries and paid out $11,200,” said Horse Park Manager Bricklee Miller. “Although it began as a one day event it has now flourished into a multi-day competition.”
