Starkville School District board passed a motion today that opens the door to the possibility of uniforms.
From SSD Public Information Officer Nicole THomas:
“Picket Wilson made a motion to implement a dress code policy to be designed by the administration and brought back to the school board……..It was seconded by Eddie Myles. Approved 3-2.”
How do you get ‘maybe’ out of the discussion at the board meeting? Seemed to my reporter it was a done deal!
I was at the school board meeting and there was no “maybe” about it. The School Board voted 3-2 in favor of a school uniform policy. The decision now is not “if” there will be uniforms, but the “specifics” of the uniforms.
In fact after the motion and vote, a parent asked for clarification on the vote and what it meant.
