Camp heads out early

Apparently Mayor Camp decided it would be better to resign and leave office on his own terms.

From the SDN:

But Camp’s veto notice has no effect on the change sincehe (sic) officially retired from office Wednesday.

I do agree with him that the neutered Lynn Lane Project is fairly useless.

But., why leave office early? Does the end of the fiscal year and how it might affect retirement calculation have anything to do with it?

What difference does it make if Dan did decide to leave a few days early? Why are you speculating and fishing for an answer? At least Dan legitimately issued the veto on the P and Z appointment before he left. Starkville’s citizens deserve fair treatment when they come before city officials whether those officals are elected or appointed. I don’t think they can get that from a quasi-reporter.

As always, thanks for reading and sharing your opinion. (No sarcasm at all intended)

For a pseudo-reporter, your Web site managed to influence local politics as much or more than the so-called “real” reporters. Keep up the good work.

He apparently left early during the inauguration in front of City Hall as well today. Nice.

Well, it looks as though Camp is guilty of having a staff that does not know what they are doing when it comes to “Is he the mayor or ain’t he the mayor?”. Glad to know the adults are in charge at least until midnight Sunday. That’s not to say Wiseman won’t do a good job. I am looking forward to the next four years with great anticipation.
Robbie W., pseudo-reporter tag fits you as well. Legitimate news reporters in legitimate media outlets are the ones I want giving me my news. That is the same reason I don’t watch Foxnews or get my news at giveaway racks.
However, I will give Robbie C. and Co credit for election return numbers. Not debate coverage, not news commenting, just reporting numbers.

There’s legitimate news outlets in Mississippi? That’s news to me Lola.

So on topic, this is where Sarah Palin got her idea to quit 18 months early from!? Or did he get this idea from her!?

    Oh the drama!

If a person only watches or reads news from outlets in which he/she agrees, then a person only gets one side of the news. I watch CNN and FoxNews because I like to see what each says about the same topic. I like to read informative news, not just news I agree with. I also read the Clarion Ledger because they do give a certain side to the story that I can’t get anywhere else.

Robbie C – you do a great job of reporting and I appreciate what you are doing for our community. I don’t always agree with you when you write an opinion piece – but that is the purpose of an opinion piece, to give your opinion.
