From Jeremiah Dumas

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who voted in the primary election. Considering this is my 1st go of municipal politics, I really had no idea what to expect on the campaign trail, but what I found solidifies the reasons that Hope and I moved our family back to Starkville 3 years ago. We moved back because of family, friends, southern hospitality and culture and although I haven’t gained any family out of this deal, I have gained many friends and a deeper respect for the culture and hospitality that we have ingrained so deeply in City of Starkville.

Knocking on doors, talking to people on the street, and becoming close to my two opponents has been a pleasurable experience and I am thankful to the people of Ward 5 for their support and making this experience such a positive one.

The City of Starkville is a great place. It has the vortex of attracting people and not letting them leave, but I think our vortex can be more powerful and we are at a pivotal time in determining the leadership that will make this a reality. We must get out and vote and I encourage everyone to do so. There are great candidates and we all need your support.

I look forward to the general election and I ask for the continued support of the people of Ward 5. Please visit my campaign website for more information, www.jeremiahdumasforalderman.com. Thanks again and I look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail.

Jeremiah Dumas
Democratic Candidate, Ward 5
