PPS is hosting an End of the Year Celebration to celebrate another successful year in the Starkville School District. Entertainment will be provided the SHS Jazz Band and Starkville’s own Nash Street Band. There will also be face painting by the SHS cheerleaders and balloon animals for the children.

You’re invited to be a part of the FUN! Bring your family! Invite your
friends and neighbors! Free BBQ plates will be served to the first 500 guests! Sorry, no carry out plates available. In case of rain, event
will be moved to AMS Cafeteria.

Sounds like lots of fun! Too bad this particular event conflicts with the Starkville Daily News’ Mayoral Forum at the Sportsplex — http://www.starkvilledailynews.com/content/view/140895/60/

    Mike,

I think it’s the other way around. The mayoral debate conflicts with the bbq, which organizers scheduled months earlier.

  3. Mike Allen says:

You’re right, Robbie. It’s a shame about the scheduling and the late announcement of this mayoral forum — also, Republican mayoral candidate Marnita Henderson’s conflict due to a previously scheduled event is unfortunate for those who want to hear from all the candidates.

  4. Alan Couey says:

Anyone else think it’ll be interesting to see which (if any) mayoral candidates work the tight schedule to see who really wants to appear as “in support of public education,” as it has been a speculative issue on several candidates’ platforms?

In the meantime, HOORAY, Starkville School District! Go Jackets!
