On January 31st, chefs from the area’s best restaurants gather at the State Theater in Starkville to go head to head in the 2009 SOUPER BOWL. The Starkville Young Professionals invite you to come and be the judge.
Your ticket in is a Souper Bowl button, on sale January 19 for $15
at Blufish Design on Lafayette St, the Greater Starkville Development
Partnership on Main St, or from any member of the Starkville Young
Professionals. Or you can pay $20 at the door.
Don’t miss a minute of the basketball game as the Bulldogs take on
Ole Miss live on the big screen, or meet here after the game
with plenty of time to sample all of the selections.
That’s 12 to 4 on Saturday, January 31st at the State Theater
in Starkville. Get your buttons early and come and enjoy the
best of Starkville and help us raise money for the United Way.

I wish this had been scheduled later in the day or on a different day. I would like to go, but will be AT the game–not watching it on tv. I hope there is a good turnout for the event, but think a few more people would make it to the event if it had been scheduled at a better time.
This game has been sold out for months now. Those that will NOT be at the game can come to the Souper Bowl AND watch the game on the BIIIIGGGG screen at the State Theater. Isn’t it nice that Starkville finally has more than one event going on at the same time? Remember when there was NOTHING to do here. . . .
Yes, it is nice that there are more events going on in Starkville, AND that some are held on the same day. As I said, I would like to attend BOTH. However, as I’ve paid $$$ for season basketball tickets, I am not going to miss the game. I have no doubt whatsoever that there are others who, like me, would like to do both, but will choose to go to the game, thus missing out on a neat event. That was my only point.
I hope the Souper Bowl is successful.
The game should be done at 3 and the event ends at 4. Go DAWGS! And go taste soup for a good cause!
